Virtual Attendance

If your circumstances change, you can change your registration from in-person to online attendance or vice versa until April 1, 2026 without any additional fees. To make this change, please notify gsaconferences@genetics-gsa.org.

Conference registration cancellation requests received by April 1, 2026 are fully refundable and will not incur a cancellation fee. All conference registration cancellations received between April 2, 2026 and April 30, 2026 will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Registration cancellations received on April 30, 2026 or later will not be eligible for a refund.

Yes, you will be able to submit your question in real time through Zoom. It is up to the session chair to select questions to ask the presenter, so yours may not be included in the limited amount of time available for live Q&A. You can also submit a question to the presenter to be answered later. The presenter will be notified of the question and may answer it as he/she/they are available (Please note that we cannot guarantee that a presenter will answer your question). Recordings will also include questions that were asked during the live session.

You can also ask questions in the Conference App. Questions and answers in the App can be moderated, published for all to see, or kept private.

Poster presenters will be asked to upload a PDF of their posters and record audio overviews, which will be available in the Conference App. You will be able to ask a question of the poster presenters in the App. In addition, we are encouraging poster presenters to include a link to their preferred calendar scheduling tool (Calendly, Google Meet, etc.) so that attendees can set up appointments for virtual poster discussions.

Workshops held online will be open to all registrants. Select workshops will be recorded and made available through the Conference App. Workshops held during the meeting will be available to in-person attendees only. Please check the schedule for more information.

Your log-in information is not transferable. Those who cannot attend in person but would like to participate virtually or watch recordings may do so by registering as a virtual attendee.

One advantage of attending any in-person meeting is the ability to spontaneously connect with others, including those who are job hunting, hiring, looking for collaborations, in your same field of research, etc. However, we realize that it may not be possible for some to attend in person due to travel restrictions, financial limitations, family responsibilities, or other circumstances. Select oral sessions will be streamed live and recorded for on-demand viewing

Yes. Abstracts will be evaluated solely based on their scientific content and relevance to this meeting and the associated topics, not the author’s registration type. You do not need to attend the meeting in person to be selected for a talk; virtual presentation options will be available.

Sessions will be developed based on review of the submitted abstracts. Overall diversity across location, institution, gender, race/ethnicity, and career stage will be considered as well. All talks will be presented live. If connectivity or other factors impact your ability to present live, an uploaded recording may be possible.

No, live poster sessions will not be held virtually. However, in-person and virtual attendees will be able to view your poster PDF and audio overview and ask questions through the Conference App. You will also be able to add a link to your preferred personal scheduling app (Calendly, Google Meet, Outlook, etc.) so that poster viewers can select a time to meet virtually and discuss your poster.

Live poster presentations will only be available in person; however, all poster presenters will be able to upload a PDF of their poster and record an audio overview to accompany it, which will be available to all registered attendees through the Conference App.

Exhibitors will have the option to participate in the virtual aspects of the meeting through workshops and demonstrations.
