31st Fungal Genetics Conference

Save the Date

March 15-20, 2022 | Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove, California

Important Announcement

Due to the uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fungal Genetics Policy Committee and the Genetics Society of America have made the difficult decision to postpone the 31st Fungal Genetics Conference until March 15-20, 2022.

Although the conference is an important event for our community, the safety and logistical issues prompted by the pandemic make it impossible to plan such an in-person meeting at Asilomar, where rich opportunities to connect and collaborate are tied to an informal setting with shared accommodations and meals. Our community in particular enjoys a history of Asilomar gatherings, and we’re pleased that we will return to the venue in 2022.

In the future, the meeting will continue to be held in even-numbered years. For example, the 32nd Fungal Genetics Conference will be held in 2024. We appreciate the cooperation and coordination with the European Conference on Fungal Genetics organizers in planning for our complementary meetings. We note that the European Conference on Fungal Genetics will now be held in odd-numbered years, with the ECFG16 conference moving to March, 2023. View the ECFG16 flyer.

The pre-meeting Asperfest will also be postponed until March 14–15, 2022.

If you have any questions, please email gsaconferences@genetics-gsa.org.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, and we look forward to seeing you all in person in 2022!
