About the Conference

The International Worm Meeting is the premier meeting for Worm researchers, featuring hundreds of presentations covering the full diversity of Worm investigations, including genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, development, immunology, physiology, neuroscience, evolution, and more. In addition to the invited speakers in the Plenary Sessions and abstract-driven Concurrent Platform Sessions, the 2025 meeting will feature an Equity and Inclusion Plenary Session, attendee-organized workshops, posters, exhibits, and a wide range of professional development and networking events.

Join us in Davis, CA

#Worm25 will be held at the University of California, Davis. Davis is the quintessential college town with a community that is inclusive and fun. As you walk or bike around the campus you’ll see a vineyard, a lush arboretum, a beautiful creek, and lots of intriguing sculptures. The city itself has plenty to offer with art galleries, bookstores, boutiques, live music, and plenty of farm-to-table dining options.

UC Davis was selected to provide the unique university atmosphere that makes the Worm meeting so special, allowing attendees to have meals together and access affordable housing. The eco-friendly and relaxed atmosphere is ideal for catching up with colleagues, discussing your research, building collaborations, and sparking new ideas. We look forward to hosting the Worm community at UC Davis!

We’re thrilled to bring the community back together for the 25th International Worm Meeting! The relaxed feel of this charming college town coupled with the scenic beauty of places like the UC Davis Arboretum, provides the perfect setting to spark new ideas, encourage intellectual discussions, reconnect with old friends, and establish new partnerships. Five outstanding speakers accepted our invitation to present in the plenary sessions and we look forward to creating an enriching scientific program from the submitted abstracts that will inspire and reinvigorate everyone to continue advancing the field. Join us and your peers from all career stages and around the world to discuss all things Worm at UC Davis in June 2025!

Keynote Address

Anne Villeneuve
Stanford University

Anne Villeneuve’s laboratory investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms that ensure the faithful inheritance of chromosomes during meiosis, the specialized cell division program by which diploid organisms generate haploid gametes. Research from her lab and those of her former trainees has played a pivotal role in establishing C. elegans as one of the premier experimental systems for investigating meiotic chromosome dynamics and genetic recombination during meiosis. Recently, her lab has extended their love of worms, chromosomes, sexual reproduction and microscopy to other nematode species and interspecies hybrids.
