The 66th Annual Drosophila Research Conference will be held in San Diego, California–one of the most popular destinations in the United States. San Diego is easily accessible by air, rail, and major highways. The official conference venue is the Town and Country Resort.
Beware of unauthorized hotel solicitations. Please note that there is only one official conference hotel, the Town and Country Resort. The only way to make a reservation is by contacting the hotel directly through the reservation site or phone number listed above. While hotel resellers or others may contact you offering accommodations for your trip, they are not endorsed or affiliated with the hotel, GSA, or the Conference.
The Town and Country Resort is only minutes away from beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and so much more. Conveniently located near the San Diego Airport, the hotel also offers easy access to the San Diego’s Fashion Valley transit station with light rail connections to downtown’s Gaslamp Quarter, local universities, and beautiful La Jolla, home to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. Old Town San Diego, which is a short two-stop trip from the venue, has transit connections to the airport and Amtrak, and it’s particularly noted for a wide variety of restaurants. For transit information, visit this link. Situated among acres of lush gardens and palm trees, the resort has swimming pools, exciting new restaurants, outdoor gathering spots with fire pits, a brand new lobby bar, walking paths, and a fitness center available for leisure time. The hotel is also adjacent to Fashion Valley Mall, which has a variety of eateries and retail outlets.
