If you’re using the Desktop App:
Click “Login” on the right hand side.

If you’re using the Mobile App:
Tap the “More” tab at the bottom of the screen, then select “Login Settings”.

The login screen will appear. Submit your registration badge ID number (top field) and last name (bottom field). Your last name must match your conference registration record.

Your badge ID number is listed in your registration confirmation email, which was sent from the address NoReply@Convention-Mail.com.

If you receive an error after entering your badge number and last name:

• Make sure you entered your badge number in the top field and last name in the bottom (password) field.
• Make sure your last name is spelled the same as in your registration record.
• Make sure all capitalization is the same as in your registration record.
• Make sure your badge number is the same as in your registration confirmation email.

If all those details are correct and you still can’t log in, please contact gsaconferences@genetics-gsa.org.

The App displays session times in PST by default. If you want to see what time a session is happening in your time zone, click “View in my Time Zone” on the session listing.

The Desktop and Mobile App will sync whenever you log in. That means you could, for example, build your schedule on your mobile device using the Mobile App and then view sessions on your computer using the Desktop App or vice versa.

You can also ask questions in the a_tech_help Slack channel, where other attendees may also offer assistance. Staff only monitor the Slack channels during live conference hours.

You must register for the conference, log in to the App, and then search for the session or presentation of interest. Five minutes before the session starts, a “Join Webinar” or “Join Virtual Session” button will become available at the top of the session detail pane. Click or tap the button to launch the Zoom session.

If instead of the “Join Webinar” button you see the “Log in for status info” button, simply click and log in using your registration badge ID number and last name.

First, make sure you are logged in.

If you are already logged in, you may need to close and refresh the detail pane of your chosen session before you will see the “Join Webinar” button.

Note that sessions should open about two minutes before the scheduled start time, but occasionally technical difficulties may delay the broadcast by a few minutes.

How to refresh the detail pane

In the Desktop App: Click the name of your session in the session listings. You can also refresh by clicking the “X” icon at the top of the detail pane and then clicking the name of your session.

In the Mobile App: Click the “< Schedule” or “<Sessions” back arrow at the top left of the session detail pane. Then click on the name of your session..

If you are using the Desktop App, and you get a blank screen when you click “Join Webinar”, you may have a popup blocker preventing Zoom from opening on your web browser. If so, for most browsers a small icon or message will appear in the address bar.

Click on the icon or message, and select an option to allow pop ups. You should allow all pop-ups from https://eventpilotadmin.com.

If you are unable to find the popup settings or unable to allow popups:

• Try switching to a different web browser
• Try using the Mobile App on a tablet or phone

This sometimes happens when you are using the “My Schedule” tab and click a session that you have not added to your personal schedule. Switch to the “Agenda” tab and then search for your session. Click on the relevant session to find the “Join Webinar” button.

If this is the first Oral Presentation session you have joined using the App and there are severe audio issues, we recommend checking for updates in the Zoom client on your computer. If your Zoom client is up-to-date and you still have audio issues, try using a different browser.

If you have used the App to attend other sessions or talks and had no sound issues, then it could be an issue with your internet connectivity or with the presenter’s audio or internet. If you suspect it is an issue with the presenter, you can report the issue to gsaconferences@genetics-gsa.org or via the Zoom Q&A window.

To launch the Zoom window within the App into full screen mode, click the full screen icon at the top right.

In Safari and Firefox browsers, you can force the webinar screen to open in a new window by right-clicking on the full screen icon and selecting “Open frame in a new tab.”

If you are using the Desktop App, when you join one of the concurrent sessions Zoom will require you to “register” by entering your name and email address. This is for security purposes during the meeting. Please enter your details and then follow the on-screen prompts to enter the session.

No. Your webcam and microphone will be automatically turned off when you join the Plenary or Platform oral presentations as an attendee.

For many of the workshop sessions, you are encouraged to share your webcam to facilitate discussion.

No, you can’t view two sessions at once.

Recordings of Platform and Plenary Sessions will typically be available in the App around 24 hours after the scheduled session ends. You must be logged in to view the recordings. Recordings are only available until May 1, 2022.

Most Workshop Sessions will not be recorded.

Recordings can be accessed from the session listing in the App. When the recording is available, the “Webinar Closed” message will switch to a “View Recording” button.
