63rd Annual Drosophila Research Conference
The Conference will be held in San Diego, California—one of the most popular destination cities in the United States. San Diego is easily accessible by air and major interstate highways. Hotel rooms and all in-person Conference sessions will be held at the Town and Country Resort. The hotel has recently reopened after a multi-million dollar renovation, which includes a variety of new amenities.

The only way to make a reservation is by contacting the hotel directly through the reservation site or phone number listed above. While hotel resellers or others may contact you offering accommodations for your trip, they are not endorsed or affiliated with the hotel, GSA, or the Conference.
Adjacent to luxury shopping and golf, the Town and Country is also minutes away from beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and more. The hotel is conveniently located near the San Diego Airport and is adjacent to the San Diego Trolley System’s Fashion Valley Transit station. The trolley system is clean, safe, and economical, and is only two stops from historic Old Town San Diego. Old Town San Diego is particularly noted for a wide variety of restaurants. The Town & Country Resort is comprised of several buildings situated among acres of lush gardens and palm trees, creating a campus feel. For leisure time there are swimming pools, exciting new restaurants, outdoor gathering spots with fire pits, a brand new lobby bar, walking paths, and a fitness center. The hotel is also adjacent to Fashion Valley Mall, which has a variety of eateries and retail outlets.

All rates are per room, per night and do not include local room tax of 10.5%, California Tourism Assessment Fee of 0.3%, and San Diego Tourism District Assessment of 2%. Maximum occupancy per room is four people.
* Single-person rollaway beds may be requested for triple and quad rooms, but availability is limited and an additional charge will apply.

Note that reservations will be accepted only when accompanied by a credit card guarantee or a deposit of the first night’s room and tax.

Room reservation fees are fully refundable. However, you must cancel your reservation at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date and time to receive a credit or refund of the required first night’s room and tax deposit.
Meals are not included in the conference registration fee, but there are plenty of dining options at the hotel and in the Fashion Valley Mall behind the hotel (accessible via a walkway behind the Royal Palm Tower). There will also be a pop-up market available near the meeting space with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, including meal packages and an a la carte menu. Light snacks will be served at the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, April 6.
The Town and Country Resort & Convention Center is handicapped accessible; guests should advise the hotel of special needs as far in advance as possible. Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs.

Due to the uncertainty of future pandemic travel restrictions, GSA recommends making travel arrangements, particularly for air travel, no sooner than 60 days prior to the conference.
