DeLill Nasser Award for Professional Development in Genetics

The DeLill Nasser Award is currently open. The deadline for applications is September 21, 2023.

The award supports geneticists in their graduate or postdoctoral career stages by funding participation in conferences and laboratory courses.

Fungal Conference Awards

The deadline to submit applications is November 2, 2023.

Limited funds will be available to support the participation of students and others that might otherwise be unable to attend. Awards are generally limited to partial support of room and board, although in special circumstances, travel assistance may also be available. If you wish to be considered for such support, please complete the Award Application by November 2, 2023. The application form includes submitting a request for a letter of recommendation. The references will receive an email allowing them to log in and upload their letter to your application. The letter of recommendation must be received by November 2. You will receive an email notifiying you when your letter of recommendation has been submitted.  Receipients of awards will receive a check at the meeting. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Poster Awards

Awards will be given for the best poster presentations by GSA undergraduate and graduate student members. Judges take both scientific merit and clarity of presentation into account. You must be a GSA student member and the first and presenting author on the abstract at the time of submission. Also, you must check the option during abstract submission to enter your poster in the competition.  

Winners will be announced during the conference. PIs and postdocs who are GSA members can indicate during registration if they would like to help with judging.

GSA Undergraduate Registration Awards

To promote excellence in undergraduate research and education, the Genetics Society of America established the Undergraduate Travel Awards, which support registration costs for undergraduate members who are presenting at a GSA conference.
