Cancellation of TAGC 2020

Dear TAGC community,

Due to the rapidly escalating global outbreak of COVID-19, we regret to announce the cancellation of TAGC 2020. While scientific progress has never been more important, public safety is our highest priority.

We will be issuing full refunds of registration fees. Information about the refund timeline and all refund policies will be emailed to you and added to the website as soon as possible. 

Please be sure to cancel your accommodation and transportation bookings as necessary. Note that if you have already booked your stay at the Gaylord National Resort, your hotel deposit will be refunded as long as you cancel at least 72 hours before the booked arrival date. If you have any difficulty in cancelling your reservation, please email your confirmation information to gsaconferences@genetics-gsa.org.

We are also working to find options that might allow some portions of the program to be held virtually. If these plans prove feasible, we will share the details via email, so please add society@genetics-gsa.org to your contact list and email white list to ensure you do not miss these announcements.

We ask for your patience and support as we go through the complex process of cancelling an event of this size in unprecedented circumstances. 

Finally, thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who worked so hard on the conference and the exciting program that we are all devastated to miss. It has been a heartbreaking end to four years of planning and expectation, but we look forward to working together on future ways to continue to build and strengthen our wonderful research communities.

Refund FAQs:

How will I get my refund? Refunds will be issued back to the credit card that was used when you registered. If you paid by check a refund check will be mailed within 45 days. 

How do I get an updated receipt showing the refund? Please go to the Registration Resource Center to access an updated receipt. 

When will I get my refund? Refunds will be issued within 45 days.

If I already cancelled registration, will the $75 cancellation processing fee be refunded? Yes, if you already cancelled the processing fee will be refunded to your credit card within the next 45 days. 

How do I cancel my Gaylord National Resort hotel booking?

UPDATE: March 17, 2020

All TAGC reservations at the Gaylord National Resort (i.e. bookings made using the TAGC group link) will be automatically cancelled. You should receive a cancellation confirmation email and a refund of your deposit. If you do not receive the confirmation email, please call the hotel directly at (+1) 301-965-4000 and give them your hotel confirmation number to make sure the reservation is cancelled. Due to the high volume of calls the hotel is receiving, at times they are experiencing technical difficulties with the phone system.

You need to cancel 72 hours before your day of arrival. GSA will send a reminder email to all those that have not cancelled as the deadline approaches so that you do not have a cancellation fee.

Can I donate my $75 cancellation fee refund to GSA?

Of course! Please send an email to gsaconferences@genetics-gsa.org letting us know you do not want your cancellation processing fee to be refunded.
