Childcare and Dependent Grants

GSA members attending TAGC 2020 are eligible to apply for a grant to cover child- or dependent-care costs incurred due to meeting attendance.

Important Dates
- Applications are due December 13, 2019.
- Awards will be announced in February 2020.
Grant Eligibility and General Information
- Applicants must be 2020 GSA members. Check your membership status by logging in to your GSA account.
- Applicants must be registered for TAGC 2020. In the event that they are not granted funds, applicants will be given a five day period post-award announcement to cancel their registration for no penalty. After that, regular cancellation fees will apply.
- Grants may be awarded for childcare, elder care, or other dependent care.
- Applications are limited to one per household.
- Awards will be paid out via reimbursement after the meeting. Receipts will be required to process reimbursement.
- Funds may be used for:
- On-site childcare
- Child- or dependent-care at home (above any normally incurred costs)
- Travel for a caregiver to the meeting
- Travel for a caregiver to your home
- Travel for your child/dependent to the meeting
- Travel for your child/dependent from home to a caregiver
- Other scenarios on a case-by-case basis
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I receive my award before the meeting?
This award will be paid out via reimbursement after the meeting. A reimbursement system allows us to provide the most aid possible to the most awardees by covering actual costs instead of projected costs.
- What should I do if I need more than one type of care for multiple children?
Indicate this in your application; however, please note that you are not guaranteed to receive the exact amount you request.
- How much money should I request for on-site childcare? What are the associated fees?
We estimate that the childcare fee will be around $500 per child for the full meeting. This figure is not final; the exact costs may be slightly higher or lower, but you may use this estimate for your application. We will update your application for you based on the final cost.
