Capitol Hill Day

Talk to policymakers at this special advocacy event on March 5, 2023. Capitol Hill Day is organized in conjunction with the Coalition for Life Sciences.

Just before the conference, GSA will lead a delegation of scientists to Capitol Hill to visit Senators, Representatives, and staffers. Participants will have a chance to engage with policy makers and to highlight the importance of fundamental discoveries, including the ways in which genetics has impacted the economy and human health.

Schedule

8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.: Transportation to the Capitol

8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Breakfast on Capitol Hill and Advocacy preparation led by Lynn Marquis

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Advocacy and meetings on Capitol Hill

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Lunch

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Advocacy and meetings on Capitol Hill

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Dinner and advocacy wrap-up led by Lynn Marquis

7:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: Transportation to National Harbor

Registration

During conference registration, you can demonstrate your interest in attending Capitol Hill Day with GSA. You will receive an email from GSA staff in the middle of December to confirm your interest and availability. If you are interested in attending Capitol Hill Day and register after the early registration deadline on December 13, please contact engagement@genetics-gsa.org for more information.

General information

GSA will provide registrants for Capitol Hill Day with transportation to the U.S. Capitol Building and a meal. A more detailed schedule of events will be available for registrants after the middle of December.
